Every Donation Matters

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley has ambitious goals for 2017 - to build 12 homes and complete 60 Brush with Kindness and Critical Home Repair projects.  We not only need to grow our volunteer pool to be able to achieve these goals, we also have to grow funding for the construction budget.  What will it cost to make this investment in our community?  The property acquisition, construction materials and subcontractor costs will add up to nearly $1.7M.  Our funding sources include the ReStore, Foundations/Corporations/Government, Mortgages and Individuals/Faith Community.  With your financial support, families build strength, stability and independence with Habitat for Humanity by building a safe and secure place to call home.  Please consider a tax-deductible, year-end donation.  Support Habitat for Humanity by making an online donation today.  Every donation matters.

Farewell Travis

We are sad to announce that our Construction Manager, Travis Juracek, has resigned after 6 years with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley. H aving been a Habitat for Humanity volunteer, Travis had a unique perspective when he started in his role as the affiliate's first full-time Construction Manager in December of 2010.
His contributions have been significant in terms of creating de s ig n criteria and standards for our homes while giving partner families the opportunity to make certain personal ized choices. His h ard work, persistence and not being afraid to ask for a donation or a discount have helped lower construction costs. Travis recognized that eve ry time we save $360 on materials or labor for a  house, we lower the partner family's monthly principal by $1. He used that insight to motivate himself and oth ers to get the best pricing, shop at ReStore Elgin, stay under budget, and take full advantage of one retailer's 11% rebate program. During his tenure, we built 52 homes and completed over 350 Brush With Kindness and Critical Home Repair projects in the local community. Travis also helped build homes internationally by participating in the Carter Work project in Haiti and on two Global Village trips to Guatemala. We will miss his dedication to Habitat for Humanity's mission, his sense of humor, work ethic and even his Nebraska apparel. Travis is with us until the end of the year so join us in wishing him well in his future endeavors.
