New Partnerships are Forming
La Napoule Art Foundation has been a supporter of Hallett for the last 4 years, bringing professional artists to work with our students to create an art project. Last year, LNAF brought hip hop recording artist ILL Se7en to lead a program creating slam poetry with all 4th and 5th graders.
This year, in addition to bringing a larger art program to our students in the spring, LNAF would like to work with 4th and 5th graders to create a visual art project that will be exhibited and sold in a Denver art gallery! All proceeds for the event will go back into supporting Hallett.
Architecture firm, Anderson Mason Dale, is sponsoring this program because they believe in our school and its belief that art is vital, not just for a child's well being, but also, research shows that art opportunities help to raise test scores, improve learning and a child's school success.

The Choice is Yours
The DPS SchoolChoice application period for next year isn't until February 2018, but now is the time for families to begin researching their school options. We believe all students should have access to quality schools, regardless of their background or address. Any student who wants to attend a school other than their neighborhood school can take part in SchoolChoice.
Here's how it works for families:
- FIND the best school for your student by using the new mobile-friendly School Finder.
- APPLY in February by ranking your top five school preferences on the online SchoolChoice application.
- REGISTER when you get your school placement results in early April.

The Book Fair is Coming
We are hosting a Book Fair from 11|27-12|1, and we would love for you to join us. Children who choose their own books are more likely to read, and the Book Fair is the perfect opportunity to introduce them to books they will love. Support your child's reading success by:
- Visiting the Book Fair as a family.
- Discussing books that interest your child.
- Allowing your child to choose books and build your home library.
