4th and 5th Grade Consolidation
This week, the Fourth and Fifth grades have been consolidated from four classes to two. All fourth and fifth grade students receive Literacy instruction from Cecilia Coats and Math instruction is provided for both grade levels by Sara Fish.

Thank you to families and staff for helping students adjust to this transition with courage and resilience.

"As a math and science teacher, I promote problem solving and critical thinking skills through hands-on activities and labs. My mathematicians and scientists explore, take risks, make mistakes, and evolve into 21st century leaders."

Sara Fish recieved her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University and has been working in Education since September 2013. Ms. Fish has recently moved to Denver from Chicago.

"As an experience educator, I value purposeful work that empowers students, families, and teachers through strong relationships, inclusion, diversity, and clear communication. I thrive in creative, project-based work that cultivates personal growth."

Ms. Coats holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and American Studies from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Communication from the University of the Pacific. She has been working with students since October 1999.

Playworks Junior Coaches Lead the Way
Fourth and Fifth grade students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership at Hallett have been selected to be a part of the Playworks Junior Coach program. These students will be building their leadership skills by leading games and activities with younger grades during recess. They will also be teaching others how to handle conflict and get along with others on the playground.
We Need You
Please consider volunteering in our school. We need your help to make our community a more excellent place to work, learn, and grow. Opportunities exist in the classroom, in the cafeteria, in the office, and with our backpack Friday food pantry. Connect with your child's teachers or anyone on our leadership team for more information.
Breakfast and Snacks
Breakfast is provided for all students in the cafeteria every day.

Students who attend Discovery Link are served from 8:00- 8:15
Students accompanied by an adult are served from 8:15- 8:30
Students are supervised by school staff from 8:30- 3:40

Please note that students will not be allowed to enter the cafeteria to receive breakfast any later than 8:35 and all students are expected to finish their breakfast by 8:40.

If your child is bussed and eats breakfast with us at Hallet, please remind them that they must go directly to the cafeteria to get their meal.

Fresh fruit and vegetables will be served as a snack for students 4 days a week beginning September 5th. Please send your student with a healthy snack until our snack program begins.
