We are very happy to share an incredible story from one of our CAD/CAM customers, Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC). Based out of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Camfil APC is one of the top worldwide leaders in regards to dust collector manufacturing. Their products allow production and manufacturing companies to significantly reduce the amount of air pollutants that are generated from a wide array of production based processes.

Last year, Farr Gold Series production welder Kelly Stevens and company president Lee Morgan set out to build a remarkable work of art that not only signifies the company's dedication to our environment, but also celebrates the history of the company's employees as well. It is called "The Remembering Tree", and from its hand-welded 14-16 gauge mild steel trunk, leaves cut on an Amada laser that contain the name of employees and employees family members, to the 3/8" thick stainless steel logo that is nested within a globe seated atop the 30 foot structure; it truly is an amazing work of art and a phenomenal show of talent that resides within the employees of Camfil APC.

We highly recommend CLICKING HERE to visit the FFJournal where you can read the full story and watch the video outlining the project's entire lifespan for yourself.

SolidWorks World 2013: Event Summary

We recently attended our first SolidWorks World event during the last remaining weeks of January, and while it was very enjoyable just to be in the low 70 degree weather of Orlando for a week, it was even more enjoyable to spend such a large amount of time with our good friends at SolidWorks as well as their highly talented user base. Our involvement within the SolidWorks community there was incredibly enjoyable and offered us the chance to collaborate, network, and gain additional knowledge of new features and applications that are being made available through SolidWorks and Dassault Systemes and how that technology is being applied by the engineers and designers that use them.

The General Sessions never failed to impress. From the unveiling of SolidWorks Mechanical Conceptual, hearing from the design team behind the Red Bull Stratos Space-Jump Capsule, to an amazing robotics demonstration put forth by Dr. Vijay Kumar and Festo, the robustness of the design capabilities that exist within SolidWorks was presented in (nothing less than) an excellent manner.

As we look forward to attending our second SolidWorks World event in January of
2014, we would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to SolidWorks and the SolidWorks community for making our initial experience such a fantastic and memorable one.
