We had a great time at the Quilting Guild of the Villages Quilt Show last weekend. We featured a fully stocked booth of Sew Central exclusive kits, a large selection of quilting patterns and rulers from Debbie Wendt, and we even had our Sawgrass FabricMaker HD printer at the booth, converting pictures on peoples smart phones to beautiful printed fabric.
We had such a great response to our last Designs In Machine Embroidery (DIME) event, that we are bringing them back. This time, instructor Sean Sullivan will teach designs on big projects like quilts! We will learn how to create embellishments, planning a layout and the ins and out of hooping. He'll also tell us about designing quilt blocks and how to piece in the hoop. And of course he's going to go over the actual quilting in the hoop too. For those of you who do not believe "hand" (as in hand sewing) is a four letter word, we are featuring English Paper Piecing class later this month. We will be starting with how English Paper Piecing (EPP) is done and everyone will make a "flower" out of hexagons. Next we are will give everyone in the class the same fabric, and show how different the results can be. It will be fun and EPP is a great take-along project so you can stitch anywhere while still being social!

Express Learn to Quilt
Starting Tuesday, Feb 8th, 10am - 3pm
Want to learn to quilt but have limited time? This is an "express" class in which we will teach quilting basics in three lessons. A Table Runner or Table Topper will be ready to grace your table in just a few short weeks and you will also have acquired all the skills needed to make most quilts patterns! This is a three class series, meeting on three Wednesdays starting on February 8th.

Strip (Quilt) Club

Kids Sewing Class
Every Tuesday and Wednesday Afternoons
Every Tuesday and Wednesday after school, kids get together for sewing lessons with Ms. Jane or Ms. Nancy. Tuesdays are normally for beginners, and Wednesday for the more advanced sewing enthusiasts. Join the fun!
