October 1, 2017 will bring many new guidelines to the Child and Adult Care Food Program. These changes will greatly improve the nutrition and health of children and the changes will be easy to implement.
A lack of "tummy time" for an infant can dramatically delay physical growth and motor development leading to delay in social, emotional, and educational skills. When six month old Katelyn started school, she was not able to raise her head or roll over. Her childcare provider was worried that Katelyn would not be able to walk in an age appropriate time frame.
