TODAY'S THEME IS
#CommunityHeroesDay

We're honoring the heroes in our communities ---- anyone from everyday folks making a difference to hidden figures in history.

THREE WAYS YOU CAN PARTICIPATE TODAY

1) On social media, share who your hero is and why they inspire you! Don't forget to tag #DiscoverUWA

2)  Ask students to write about their chosen heroes, including what experiences and skills they need to be successful. For example, Trevor Edwards is the President of Nike Brand. He earned a business degree in the eighties, but he remains a student of consumer markets. He is responsible for turning Nike into a digital leader by using social media to connect with consumers globally.

3)  Give your students real-world examples of education and career paths by highlighting what your school's alumni have done after graduation.

DiscoverU encourages our community to come together and promote college and career exploration for the region's youth. Through fun activities in and out of school, students throughout Seattle and South King County will have opportunities to explore their futures. DiscoverU puts student interests at the center and helps connect their aspirations with the many pathways to get there.
