JULY 4th SPECIAL EDITION
Fourth of July
Celebrating America's Independence

"On the Fourth of July, we come together as New Yorkers, and as Americans, to celebrate our nation's independence and the birth of our nation's freedom. Today we also must honor the men and women of our Armed Forces who courageously serve our nation throughout the world. On behalf of all New Yorkers, I thank them, as well as the military families here at home, for their commitment and sacrifice. I wish all New Yorkers a happy and safe holiday."

 - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo

New "I Love NY LGBT" Tourism Website Launched
Initiative delivers on governor's promise to grow tourism industry in new, innovative ways

Just in time for the festivities of New York City's Pride events, Governor Cuomo announced the launch of a new "I Love NY LGBT" website, a one-stop tourism portal into all that New York State has to offer LGBT travelers. In just its first three days, the website had over 5,000 visits and close to 15,000 page views.

"New York State has a tremendous variety of 'must see' destinations for all travelers of different interests - whether they are wine connoisseurs, history buffs or outdoor adventurers," Governor Cuomo said. "The website will be an important tool to help attract visitors, encourage spending in our communities and create jobs in the industry. New York has a proud history of welcoming the LGBT community, and whether you're planning a weekend trip or a destination wedding, I encourage all to come explore the Empire State." For the full story, click here.
