Spring is finally here and
Down Dog Yoga Center is turning one!!!
Join us on our first birthday, April 1st, for a day of FREE YOGA and community!
Yep, that's free yoga all day!
This year has flown by so quickly. It has been a year of learning and growing and there is much to celebrate! Here are some highlights from our first year:
- We donated to over 20 local organizations in an effort to give back to our community. We also helped the Animal Rescue Project find a forever home for Jenny the dog!
- We offered 30+ workshops & special events this year, plus weekly drop-in classes. A dozen yogis got out of bed early and braved the cold and snow twice a week in January and February to participate in our 6am Yoga Challenge. It was inspiring!
- We've taken yoga out of the studio to Bronson Park, the beach in South Haven, the Kalamazoo Institute of Art, and a few local breweries for our fun Yoga On Tap event!
- The list goes on and on...we've had a great time with YOU this year! And with our amazing staff, teachers, and massage therapists who enjoyed a fun holiday murder mystery dinner party and a summer camping trip together. Down Dog Yoga Center would not be what it is without our entire family of staff and students!

As we reflect on this past year, we are also looking ahead. Here are a few things we have in store for you as we move into our second year:
- More innovative programs and ways to interact with and support our community!
- Down Dog is hosting Melissa Spamer's 500 hour advanced teacher training program. If you're a yoga teacher looking to further your studies, this is an amazing program! More information is available via Melissa's website: www.lotusintheflame.com
- We are committed to bringing you continued high quality teaching and programs, including guest teachers from around the country. We can't wait to have experienced yoga teacher Mitchel Bleier in Kalamazoo for a Sridaiva workshop June 12 - 14.
- Plans to take a trip somewhere warm next winter! More info coming soon. Let us know if you have suggestions or an interest in joining us on this tropical retreat!
