A Community of Growing Disciples, Growing Disciples
APRIL 2016
Dear Friends,
At the end of January all three pastors and several elders went to the ECO Synod gathering in Newport Beach. I gave a presentation on the theological work that is being done by our new denomination. Even more important was the chance to hear some amazing presentations. We invite you to check them here . The third message given by Dr. Kara Powell of the Fuller Youth Institute is especially powerful and describes the course and goals we are pursuing at CPC. We are also excited to share with you our CPC ECO video! Please check it out and let us know what you think.

On May 1st we have our final worship service in The Story series. We will have a single service that day starting at 9:00am. The morning will be filled with music from The Story and a joyous celebration on the patio afterwards as we celebrate and welcome Pastor Bruce. Karen and Emma Greenough to our family here at CPC. We hope the whole church family will be with us for this great and fun day.

The next Sunday--May 8th--We move to our new morning schedule.  To see the new schedule, and to find out more about why we are doing this, please click

Spring into Discipleship!
LIFE Groups:
We're launching into new worship times on May 8 and along with them new opportunities to engage in learning and growing as disciples. A new LIFE Groups Team is developing classes that will be offered during both worship services (as well as throughout the week) to encourage a vibrant faithfulness and new opportunities for getting to know one another. In the next few weeks we'll be letting you know which classes will be offered in our first 6 week session and how to sign up. Keep your eyes and ears open!!
The Discipleship Team is also working ahead on our summer and fall sessions. If you have an idea or desire for a particular class and/or would be interested in teaching or facilitating a particular topic or study please talk with Pastor Bruce or elders Laurie Curtis-Abbe or Bob Pedroza.
Our first session will be a shortened 6 weeks from May 8-June 12. A summer series will begin June 26 and run through August, and our Fall semester will begin in mid-September and run until Advent begins.

COMMUNITY Groups:
We're also working on developing small groups to foster intergenerational community, faith development, and love of neighbor. If you would be
interested in helping develop a new small group ministry please contact Pastor Bruce .

Mission:CPC-Mission:Possible
Do you know there is a way to contribute to a very large and very close whole world impacting mission?  Right now?  Real close?  Community Presbyterian Church is itself a mission - seeking to fulfill the Great Commission of making disciples, baptizing and teaching.  "Go into all the world" includes all those who use and benefit from our own hallways, sanctuary, classrooms and plaza (and bathrooms, and lighting and sound system and coffee and...)!
There are tremendous needs for workers in the mission field of CPC - the whole community investing in the lives of infants and children, students, families, singles and senior adults.  We house a variety of ministries such as AA and Food Share, Preschool, classes and studies, Prayer and small groups, as well as worship!  All of these ministries and everyone of us that benefits from all we do in and through this campus need the support of our giving: financial, time, abilities, and other resources.
How are you choosing to be a missionary
with CPC?
Student Ministries Winter Camp 2016
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful" (Psalm 139:14). We are so thankful for the opportunity to go to Winter Camp 2016.  Lives were transformed by the message that we are all "younique" and wonderfully made. We were reminded that God w atched us when we were made in utter seclusion and there is nowhere we may go to escape from his Spirit - he is always present! We're happy to report that four of our students made new commitments to Christ!   Many memories were made that will last a lifetime. Worship was awesome, five students got to snowboard for the first time, and we were blessed to have snow Sunday morning. Thank you to all our sponsors who made it possible for some of our students to go and for all your prayers while we were away.
