other like-minded churches."

“Words That Could Make or Break a Good Dad”
Pat Phinney
CB North Central Regional Director
" Someone has said, “Link a boy to the right man and he will seldom go wrong.” That adage is even more true when the “right man” happens to be his dad. The influence of a good father cannot be calculated. Wouldn’t you agree?

I’m sure many of you are planning a very memorable day for that special father in your life. On June 17, you dads will get showered with those unique gifts from your children."
Karen's Update
GREAT news from the Phinney household!
I have been looking forward to updating our CB North Central family concerning the report we recently received on Karen’s health. Since her diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer on September 3, 2017, it has been a very challenging journey. During this time, we have remained thankful to Him for His steadfast faithfulness to us and our entire family. We are indebted to each of you for carrying our burden through love, friendship and devoted prayer. Read more

"The New Normal"
Normal: Usual, typical, or expected.  synonyms: ordinary, common, every day, regular, routine. . .

"We use the word ‘normal’ quite often to describe our daily activities, work, family, etc. I have a ‘New Normal’. As of May 30 th my husband and I have sold our home and we are in the process of getting ready to build a new one. Well, ‘we’ aren’t actually building anything, but you get the idea." "It Would Be Wise for Us to Plan Our Exit"
Twenty CB Pastor’s met at the Moody Pastor’s Conference May 21-24. Dynamic speakers, stimulating meal conversations and inspiring music set the stage for a refreshing 4 days. Jesus invited his disciples to get away for a spell, these fellas followed that example, and I can say we left renewed in our spirits to the task of evangelism and discipleship.

“The last forty years we have spruced up the barn, spiced up the message and increased the speed of the music—but the harvest is not doing itself.”
 - speaker, Ed Stetzer, Executive Director of the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism

It was an honor to invest a week with CB North Central Pastors in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute last week. About 700 pastors attended this annual event but the best part was being with CBNC pastors. New relationships were made and many of us were encouraged, inspired, and blessed. It is my prayer that CBNC and WorldVenture can continue to grow together and support one another.

Top 5 Most Misused Verses in The Bible
" The Bible is a sharp, double-edged sword—able to pierce the heart. However, when portions of the Bible are used in the wrong context, it’s like trying to fight with the butt of the weapon instead of the blade. It’s just not effective."

"Over my years in ministry and as an ongoing student of the Bible, I’ve come across many biblical misquotes, misunderstandings and flat-out misuses."

The Great 30-Day Marriage Experiment
"Are Jesus’ words worth trying out?

Seriously: Do you think he has sufficiently proven himself to you to the point where you owe it to him to believe he knows what he’s talking about?"

If so, let me suggest a 30-day marriage experiment rooted in Jesus’ new commandment, given in John 15:12: “This is my command: Love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.”' Read more -by Gary Thomas,

5 Right and Wrong Ways To Deal With Criticism
"Criticism accompanies leadership. The only way to avoid criticism is to do nothing. If a pastor is taking a church somewhere—and really even if he or she isn’t—someone will criticize his or her efforts. The way a leader responds to criticism says much about the maturity of the leader and the quality of his or her leadership." Read more -by Ron Edmonson,
