Whispering Pines Update 2013
The big news is that Jasmine had a litter of 9 puppies on 3/28/13 - 6 black and 3 yellow. As always, we were on hand to help and glad we were, since the only yellow female got stuck for 2 1/2 hours and Bill and good friend Ellen Moon had to physically help the puppy the rest of the way. After that, they all did very well and were a joy to watch learn, grow and play. They are now happily being the center of attention in their new homes. Visit our Whispering Pines website or Facebook page to see photos and watch videos of the puppies; here's a video at 6 weeks old
Bill judged 2 AKC Master Hunt Tests in 2013, one for Rappahannock River Retriever Club in Remington, VA in April and the second for Preque Isle Retriever Club of Erie, in Springboro, PA in June. The Master tests each take 2 days to complete, since the tests are conducted on land and water and include double blinds, triple marks, diversion birds, and much more. Some of retrieving breeds include Labradors, Goldens, Chessies, Flat-coated and Curly-coated retrievers, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, and even Standard Poodles! It is fascinating to watch the dogs doing what they were bred to do and loving every minute of it.
Bill retired from his career of 50 years in retail, so has more time now to train our labs for Senior and Master work. He also enjoys helping newcomers to retrieving learn the ropes and watch their dogs progress. If you are interested in retriever training, please contact us!
