Pope John XII rightly said, "It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father." We think our MTM and CNM warrior dads are absolutely tops, and we are so blessed to have them demonstrating true fatherhood in their loyalty to their kids and families throughout the ups and downs, and the joys and the tears of the journey with MTM-CNM. For all that you do and all that you are: THANK YOU, DADS! 

 

Friday will be all about meeting and greeting new and returning families to the conference! We want everyone to feel as welcome and as included as possible, especially if you're new to the conference and feel like you don't really know anyone yet! Please be sure to help us get to know you by emailing us a family photo and a brief description, which we can include in the program. 

When you introduce your family on Friday night, you can either use digital photos or photo collages which we can put on a powerpoint slide for you (just make sure to send it to us in advance) or you can bring a family poster board and make it as creative and colorful as you like!

 

Please also send in any memorial photos of loved ones along with their birth dates and angel dates.

Dads, moms, and other caregivers in our MTM-CNM community give a great deal to support and lift up their kids and loved ones with MTM-CNM. One key element of caregiving we want to highlight at the conference is the importance of also caring for the caregivers. Many of you have heard some form of the proverbial wisdom, "If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else." And you probably know from experience how true this is!

So in the spirit of "caring for the caregivers," Krista Lee, who is attending the conference with Burke Stansbury and their sweet son Lucas, will be offering a special yoga session for families on Saturday morning from 8 am to about 8:45 am. Please don't forget to wear comfortable clothing because it's going to be a little challenging twisting yourself into a pretzel while wearing skinny jeans! Okay, just kidding! No human pretzel-making will take place, but this will be a great opportunity to work on your relaxation abilities through mental focusing and gentle stretches!

In the midst of our hectic lives, it is so important to remember the words: "Be still and know that I Am God." We don't run the universe (hard to admit as that may sometimes be), but we know who does! At 8 am on Sunday, we will have a nondenominational prayer service, where everyone is welcome. Although we'll be missing the passionate preaching of Pastor Jacob Berry, who can't be with us in person this year as he was in 2011, we will still have a reverent time together of singing, inspirational readings, and praying for our families, friends, and loved ones.
