From the Director's Desk

Retaining and recruiting new businesses to Downtown Lancaster is an essential piece of our work at Destination Downtown Lancaster. Economic development has historically been a high priority for Lancastrians. Each year the city receives funds under the Community Development Block Grant program and these funds are awarded under the priorities set by the community through a local survey process conducted every five years. Many downtown businesses have been able to grow and provide meaningful employment because of these funds. Communicate your priorities for future CDBG funds by completing the survey.

As always, it takes an entire community coming together for the common good to truly achieve greatness. Keep being awesome, Lancaster! Participate by clicking HERE!

Planning a farm-style wedding?

Discover the art of chalkboard lettering from local resident and artist, Jason Goupil, of the Art and Craftsman Company. In this workshop, Jason will share his expertise and you’ll learn how to care for a chalkboard, perfect the craft, and stand out with a unique skill. Included in the class fee, you’ll receive everything you need to get started. This workshop is open to all, as chalkboard lettering ability is rooted in natural handwriting, and less in artistic talent!

2pm-4pm

Join us at the Keller Market House as Chef Doug Weber demonstrates how to make fresh pasta at home. Learn the whole process and sample three delicious pasta dishes!

We’ll learn how to make - and then enjoy - Italian Sausage Marinara, Shrimp Alfredo and a vegetarian Pasta Primavera. The recipes will feature many local Keller Market ingredients including  Berry Family Farm  sausage, farm fresh eggs and  Florentine Legacy  Marinara Sauce. We’ll see how to use both a hand cranked pasta machine as well as one that attaches to a KitchenAid.

This workshop is a fundraiser for our future Keller Community Kitchen, and all proceeds will go towards necessary renovation & construction. Chef Weber will also bake a delicious Italian dessert, to be raffled off at the class. The lucky winner will get to take it home to accompany their new pasta skills!
