I joined Yoga Balance in February 2012 after the Yogalates class I had been taking at another location was canceled. I knew how important a strong core was for me, so I began with the Tuesday Core class and have been happily practicing here ever since. My quilting "fun" began when my first child was born in 1987. Having quit my job to be a stay at home mom, I needed to be in control of something and be able to express my creative side. Christmas is a favorite special time of year so I made Cold and Blue in 2007 to keep me warm with Holiday cheer. It's all done by hand (hand pieced, appliqu├ęd, and quilted), because I like to sew quietly and be in the presence of family, or wait in the school pickup line, or at doctors' appointments, etc., relaxing, creating, enjoying, participating and accomplishing all at once.

Donna's quilts will be on display at YogaBalance throughout the month of December.
I started practicing yoga a few years ago, and it has been truly one of my favorite forms of exercise. I have tried many different "get in shape" programs, but nothing compares to the benefits I get from my yoga practice. Yoga has helped me manage stress and anxiety, and learn how to relax. Yoga has increased my flexibility and my muscle strength. Yoga has enabled me to see things clearer, and to connect to myself and others. Yoga has brought me peace in times of chaos. It helps me to be present and happy with who I am.
