Baby Boot Camp- South Bay 

December 2011

Greetings Baby Boot Camper! 

Happy December friends! No matter what you believe or celebrate, December is a month that should bring your family closer, give you an excuse to get out and do fun things that you don't normally do, snuggle up at night with warm drinks, and be extra thankful for all of the blessings you have been given throughout the year. It's also a great time to start doing some inventory on your life and think of some areas that you would like to see growth or change in when the new year hits. You don't have to make resolutions... make goals. Be as specific as you can and find a way to measure your success in those goals. I'll give you more tips on this in January... but for now start thinking of how you can be a better you in 2012!

Read below for all of the awesome stuff Baby Boot Camp has going on and be sure to reach out to me if you have any questions, want to come try a class, or just want to say hi!
 Please note that we close up shop the last 2 weeks of December to make lots of time for family stuff so there will be no class 12/19-1/1/12.

We CAN Do It!

Thank you to all of you awesome ladies that donated canned goods for our WE CAN DO IT campaign! Between our donations and those of Karna Fitness Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, Baby Boot Camp Santa Clara/Sunnyvale and Karna Fitness Cambrian Park, Los Gatos and San Jose (West) we were able to donate 86 lbs of food to Second Harvest Food Bank. You girls are wonderful and a made a difference in a lot of peoples' lives.

Here is what is happening this month in our Strollerfriends Group...

Tuesday December 6, 2011: Holiday Story Time
Stick around after class while we read stories to our little ones and lounge around in the play area at Tiny Tots.

Thursday December 15, 2011: Stay and Play
Stay and play after class in the kids play area at Tiny Tots (or we can walk over to Campbell park- weather permitting).

Sunday January 1, 2012: Book Club Starts!
We'll be picking a book in December and will start reading it January1st! Our first book club meeting will be early February- exciting!!

Wednesday January 11, 2012: Mom's Night Out
We're going to Sky High in Santa Clara for some trampoline fun... save the date!!

TBD in January: Shopping Party at Title 9 in Los Gatos
Come out and enjoy 10% off the entire store as well as some drinks and nibbles while we talk about whatever moms talk about! :)

Kärna Fitness: San Jose (Downtown, Mid-town, and Rose Garden) will be launching classes in January and I couldn't be more excited about it! We're in the works of securing a location for our first program that we'll be introducing to you- Restore the Core! Stay tuned for details.

After we launch Restore the Core, we'll be gearing up for some half-marathon training. Always wanted to run one but don't consider yourself a runner? Consider yourself a runner but want to run faster? Whatever category you see yourself in, you can do this program! Have a specific half-marathon in mind that you want to train for? Let me know!!

What is Kärna Fitness you ask? It's an awesome fitness program designed for women of all ages, size, and shape. The program has the following different class offerings:

* Kärna Camp: Small group high-intensity interval training

* Restore the Core: Mat-based pilates to tighten the core and get rid of the low belly sag

* 1/2 Marathon Training: Effective and safe interval-based training

* Nutrition Solutions: A 4 week class designed to help you safely lose weight  and maintain a healthy weight through small but effective diet changes.

Split Jumps 

split jumps

[A] Stand with your feet in a staggered stance, left foot in front of your right. Lower your body into a lunge. [B] Quickly jump up and scissor kick your legs so that you land with your right leg forward. [C] As soon as your feet land, lower your body back down into a lunge. That's one rep. Do 3 sets of 6 reps.
