Winter Weather and Lincoln Square - What to Know

However, keeping Lincoln Square passable is a team effort that involves everyone.

Recently, the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has
posted a handy guide listing the snow removal responsibilities of homeowners, property managers, businesses, and residents along with a SnowFAQ. Plus, the  Final Borough-Based Snow Plan is available on

All winter weather updates and information about the City's response can be found by visiting the City's Severe Weather Website at or by calling 311. Information will also be regularly updated on

Show Your Civic Pride - Support the Lincoln Square BID in 2017
A quaint gem in the middle of a busy intersection, where Broadway meets Columbus Avenue and across from Lincoln Center's iconic campus, Dante Park sits as a respite for busy New Yorkers who need a moment to sit or a place to enjoy a calmer lunch hour outside. The park was named in honor of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri and a statue of him sits in the center of the park's green interior, surrounded by benches, planters, and three seating areas along with one of our Information Carousels.

Recently, the park has undergone extensive work by the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), extending the northern tip. Despite the myriad orange cones, machinery, and upheaval, we have worked diligently to keep the park beautiful and welcoming.  Plus, with the fence having been removed as part of the Parks Without Borders initiative, Dante Park's quality and contribution to the neighborhood is no longer dampened by an unattractive, forgotten fence. Securing funds from the City Council and supporters, we strive to make sure that Dante's green interior matches t he quality of this wonderful neighborhood. But it is still  lacking in flowers, as we have no budget for summer annuals for Dante Park's interior. We would love to  add more color and texture to the interior for everyone to enjoy. Dante Park is important to the area's streetscape; please consider donating to help us raise funds to continue providing a great park and amenity to the neighborhood.  Click here to donate.
