Finnish Design Showcased Under the Dome

Apparel, beauty products and home decor from 42 up-and-coming - and established - Finnish design companies are on view in an eye-catching holiday pop-up, #FinlandUnderTheDome, running through Saturday.

A whole line of linens by Finlayson, a Nordic textile designer since 1820, features artwork by Touko Laaksonen, known as Tom of Finland, who became famous for his graphic, gay fetish themes.

The iconic homoerotic artist was inspiration for TOM, a limited-edition book of drawings by New York-based artist Silvia Prada.

The soft-cover publication, simply titled "TOM," is among several artistic collaborations the Los Angeles-based foundation has spearheaded in recent years to protect and preserve erotic art on a broader scale.

A friend, member and collector in Ventura, California, Gary Jeroy, had his home threatened by the ravaging wildfires. He had to evacuate. He had time to collect his two dogs and his five original Tom of Finlands. When he returned to his canyon home, many neighbor's houses had been lost.
