December 2014

Happy Holidays!

As another exciting -- and change-filled -- year closes at VNoC and VIoC, we'd like to thank all the pet owners and referring vets. We are honored that you trust and value our services. Both practices have thrived this year, a tribute to your trust and the efforts of all our staff.

Please note that both practices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day, but open the rest of the holiday period.

The best of the holiday season to you and yours,

Dr. Jay McDonnell and the staffs of VNoC & VIoC

PS The practice that plays together has fun together as these photos from our holiday party attest!

A Special Thanks to Some Very Special Organizations

Throughout the year, we are humbled by the work done by staffs and supporters of the many nonprofits that do so much for companion animals.

In appreciation for all they do, Veterinary Neurology of the Chesapeake offers free or discounted care to service dogs, rescue organizations and military family pets throughout the region.

Believing in the importance of giving back, Dr. McDonnell volunteers at shelters including BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter, Inc.), GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue Education and Training), and MAGAR (Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue); and has supported other organizations including Companion Bridge. He has also worked with State Police K9 units and dogs in service to the University of Maryland Homeland Security.

Each month, VNoC and VIoC donate to the ACVIM Foundation Memorial Program in memory of patients who have passed away. In this way, we honor the bond of between pets and their owners, who can take comfort in knowing that the donation can translate into longer, healthier lives for millions of animals everywhere.

Recently VNoC became a veterinary partner of Pets for Patriots. This organization provides opportunities for those in the military community to adopt adult shelter pets, large dogs and special needs animals - those most in need of a loving, forever home. To ease the financial costs associated with pet ownership, Pets for Patriots partners with veterinarian practices like VNoC to deliver a minimum 10% discount for the life of the adopted pet's care.

If, in this season of giving, you have the opportunity to donate, please consider these wonderful organizations!
