Georgette's Gossip

Gl and Al

Here I am  in my party clothes with Albert. We had a great holiday season with old and new friends. This is our 25th Anniversary Year. My mom said, " when good things happen, knock on them." We are knocking on 2012.

Meet my new friend Yvonne Perry  who brought me a bottle of Middle Sister Pinot Grigio. Yvonne plays Gorgeous, the middle sister in my sister Wendy Wasserstein's play The Sisters Rosensweig. It is at the Albany Capital Rep Theater January 24- Feb. 19.  I will be speaking before the matinee Sunday Feb 12. Ring, ring ring, calling Doctor Gorgeous.

History Lesson
Dining Room
The  present Wilburton Inn was the largest estate in Manchester. As Strawberry Hill Farm it stretched south on River Rd, included Hildene's Meadow  and continued to the turn on Richville Rd. It was over 400 hundred acres.  This is the Billiard Room which was added by James Wilbur. Today it is our formal dining room. A blazing wood fire is the best company for dinner. It may hiss, but it never bores or burps.
The Maltese Doctor
Doctor from malta
Remember The Maltese Falcon, well this is the Maltese doctor. He and his wife are relaxing at the Inn, taking a break from their demanding studies.  He is a neurologist with a  special interest in seizures. Keep up the good work. Study hard and thank you.
#19, Room of the Month

King Room #19  is light and spacious. It has wonderful big mountain views. It is a ground floor room with a sitting room perfect for a pac n play or roll away. The leather recliner is super comfortable. Warning, once you are sitting in it, you may be too comfortable to get up.
Greetings!

Downton Abbey- Almost
Didier
The turn of the 19 century was an era of gracious hospitality. The traditions of that era have nurtured our concept of hospitality.  Here is Chef Didier,  a true Frenchman from Nice, dressing salads. You see his concentration. All ingredients are fresh and wholesome. Below is a photo of Didier's smoked salmon served with creme fraiche. Of course he smoked the salmon himself. Ready made mixes and microwaves, non, non, jamais .
