An #AfterschoolVictory! On December 10, 2015 President Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act, which  includes multiple provisions strengthening and supporting student access to quality afterschool and summer learning programs, including an  update to the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) initiative.

Juvenile Justice in Wyoming

As you may have heard, the WYAA recently received a grant to focus on prevention and early intervention of youth who are at-risk of entering the formal juvenile justice system here in Wyoming. In many cases, early childhood and afterschool program providers can identify these students early and offer a unique place in the student's day to divert risky behavior.

To begin this effort, WYAA and partners developed a (short) survey to look into what is already working and where needs exist in Wyoming communities.

We would greatly appreciate your input. The survey is only 9 questions, and should not take much of your time.
America After 3PM - Data for Wyoming
America After 3PM  spans a decade of data chronicling how children spend the hours between 3 and 6 p.m. - the hours after school ends and before parents typically return home from work.  It highlights the trends of afterschool program participation, documents the benefits associated with participation in afterschool programs and measures public support for afterschool programs.   Explore Interactive Maps

Text and support systems automatically adapt to individual reading levels as students proceed. Teachers receive real-time score reports and additional downloadable instructional resources. For more information go to  http://www.readorium.com  or call Harriet Isecke at 201 836 8403.
