Hello Happy Hooves friends and family,
|
The Corontzes Family (George, Lesa, Matt, Christine), Founders of Helen's Hugs, with Amy and Gary Goudelock and Helen's beloved horse, Tonka. |
Helens Hugs also made
a heartfelt video that tells their story and the children they support through Happy Hooves' School at the Barn program. If you take a minute
to view this video, you will see the power and impact of therapeutic riding in action!
Happy Mothers Day and we can't wait to see you soon,
Becky Sweeney,
"And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
~ Hebrews 12:1-3

Please Welcome Our Newest Employee, Emily Vazquez!
I joined Happy Hooves and Eden Farms as an intern, and prior to that, I studied psychology while working as a teacher's aide for 2 years at a school in the inner city of Milwaukee. During this time, I became interested in equine therapy as a viable option for special needs and at-risk youth.
After moving to South Carolina, I began searching for an internship that would allow me to personally observe and experience all that equine assisted therapy has to offer. I was thrilled to discover that Happy Hooves would be able to help me along in my journey! My plan is to complete my internship and, thereby, my B.S. in Psychology from Liberty University this spring, and will continue with Happy Hooves as Feeder/Caretaker/Camp Leader.
I love staying active both mentally and physically, and am happiest when I can engage in both simultaneously. Working at Eden Farms and with the Happy Hooves program has been an enormous blessing because it allows me to do that! I love how engaging every moment is and that I am constantly gaining new knowledge through meaningful interactions with my coworkers, the students, parents, and teachers who visit us every day, and even the horses!

Did You Know?
Happy Hooves has been a PATH International Premier Accredited Center since 2005. In fact, we are one of only six Premier Accredited Centers in South Carolina, and the only one in the Upstate. This accreditation is a rigorous process requiring centers to meet stringent requirements for staff, facilities, and programs. A program must be re-accredited every five years.
