Be sure to give them ample time to eat breakfast prior to dropping your pup off in the morning. Dogs who miss the chance to eat their meal tend to get upset tummy and will throw up stomach bile. We've had quite a few coming in lately with breakfast and lunch in hand. Due to the excitement, it is very rare that any dog will eat promptly after arriving. We also want to make sure they have enough time to digest their food before getting rowdy with their buddies. This is to avoid the potential of bloat while also making sure they're able to hold down their breakfast. It's like eating a big meal and immediately going to run a marathon after.
It's officially Spring and with that comes our Puppy Parents' favorite time of year, SALE TIME! We will be running a sale on Daycare AND Boarding passes for first dogs only from April 23rd through April 30th. As usual, feel free to stock up on passes as we will not be running another sale until Fall. Please be mindful as passes expire after one year from the purchase date. We do accept phone orders so if you'd like to purchase a pass, feel free to call, email or let us know at drop off so we can have the pass ready for you by pick up time.
Our next class list for April - May has been announced! We'll be offering Basic Puppy, Basic Manners and Loose Leash/Impulse Control. Since every dog benefits from training, we'll also be offering a
$50 off coupon to all pups who sign up for a class at Happy Hounds. Not only will this give you and your pooch something to bond over, but it will also help behaviors at daycare. Some pups just get so excited here and training them in their favorite place will help roll over commands as well as calming behaviors into this setting. For more details, keep scrolling!

Meet Kodi
Kodi joined the Happy Hounds family in June 2015 at the age of 6 months. This girl is the most beautiful color a brunette can be. If only Clairol sold her tint in boxed dyes.
Much like a typical lab, Kodi is full of personality! She wears her emotions on her sleeve, and they're always extreme versions. When she's happy, she's ecstatic. When she's sad, everyone feels it. When her mom moves the couch to a separate corner of the living room, her world comes to an end. When she's hungry... who are we kidding, she's ALWAYS hungry. Kodi is our feeding room shark. Even when she's fed first, she's constantly hovering with the occasional "I'm starving to death" bark and frantic trot to the feeding room door and back to her corner spot... just anything to get a glimpse, a whiff, of one more scrumptious crumb.
After feeding, the charge and chant down the stairs to the basement where the tennis balls rest in their basket, just waiting to be drooled on. The second you pick a ball up, her eyes widen and the tap dancing begins. Though she isn't always the one to catch the ball, her effort is A+. And don't even get us started on her showmanship. On the occasion that she does catch the ball, Kodi victory trots throughout the basement, barking and thrashing the ball back and forth making sure all of her friends watch in envy. She will play ball as long as someone is there to throw it!

Class Schedule:
Puppy Manners - $199
Thursday, 7:30pm-8:30pm
Thursdays, April 12th - May 17th. This 6-week class for dogs 7 months and under. Class helps prepare your puppy for life in our busy and active world and covers everything from socialization and handling to teaching polite puppy manners. Class covers body language, crate training, potty training, biting/nipping, chewing, jumping & more! Behaviors Covered: sit, down, drop it, touch, come when called, basics of loose leash walking & aggression prevent.
Basic Manners - $179
Sundays, 10am-11am
Sundays, April 22nd - May 27th. This 6-week class for dogs 7 months and older. Behaviors Covered include sit, down, leave it, touch, come when called, loose leash walking as well as a few fun, useful tricks! If your dog has issues with aggression or barking/lunging at dogs on leash, please email K9 Turbo Training before registering.
Loose Leash/Impulse Control - $179
Sundays, 11:15am-12:15pm
Sundays, April 22nd - May 27th. Class focuses on loose leash walking skills as well as teaches your dog the much some needed self control for when you're out and about (including practice in downtown Plymouth)! Topics covered: leave it, training through distractions, passing other animals and people on walks, and controlling themselves when they're excited. This 6-week class for non-reactive dogs of any age.

Please leave nylabones and rawhides at home. If packing a large bag of food, be sure to write the amount per feeding on the bag.
* Lobby doors are locked between 10am and 2pm on weekdays(Monday-Friday). We will not accept any arrivals or departures during those hours.
* Dogs with expired vaccines will
not be accepted for daycare or boarding. We require an
updated vaccination record 48 hours BEFORE he/she arrives. If you are traveling abroad, we also will need a local contact in case of emergency.
* Your dog MUST have a snap "quick release" collar for day care and boarding, with
no tags attached. This is important for your dogs safety.
* Please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of time for cancellations and reservations.
* Be sure to inform us of any changes in contact information; phone numbers, email/home address, emergency contact, etc.
* If a family member or friend is picking up your pooch from daycare or boarding, you
must pre-pay your bill. If it's a last minute decision to have someone else pick your pup up, please give us a call with payment and let us know who we should be expecting.
