Happy Hounds News
May 2018

Sorry.... we had to. It's been stuck in our heads all day.

With as busy as we've been, make sure to book any Summer boarding as soon as possible! This not only assures availability for your pooch but it also helps with staffing. We always make sure to schedule multiple overnight staff members every night of the year but we do like to give the additional girls(our back-up overnighters) a heads up on whether they're truly needed to snuggle pups or if they're called off for the night. This is most often than not the main reason why last minute/day of boarding reservations are not accepted.

That being said, we're expecting a rather busy Summer! If you're in the beginning phases of planning your Summer vacation, don't forget your pup! Make sure to book your pup' s vacation while booking your reservations for the human family.

Since life can get hectic, we do allow others to pick your pooch up from daycare or boarding. If someone else picking up, it's your duty to inform them of the lobby rules. We only allow ONE family in the lobby at a time. This is for everyone's safety. Though our pups mingle in a pack great and do well in this environment, some pups are mommy & daddy protective, while others are quick to bolt to out doors. Also, make sure they're aware that we do not allow drop offs or pick ups between 10 am - 2 pm. The lobby door is promptly locked at 10 am so the pups can have full roam. Keep in mind, the first three hours of the day, we do keep the pack split into play groups so we can safely and quickly bring pups getting dropped off. If you're running later than normal, past 10 am, please call and inform us of your cancellation. Even if you're running 15-30 minutes behind, that's still another 15-30 minutes the kids have to wait to have their freedom of the facility... and let me tell you, these kids love their freedom to lounge and play where ever and whenever. Make sure to inform us of anyone other than you picking your pooch up. We do also accept phone orders so any boarding bills can be handled prior to your pooch departing.

When you have a free minute, we'd love if you could write a review on your experiences with us. We'd love to hear of our successes and where we can improve. After all, we're just one big, ever-growing happy hound family and we want to keep it that way! You can review us on Google or Facebook.

Sincerely,

Happy Hounds

Meet Ridley

Ridley, a Boston Terrier, joined the Happy Hounds family in May 2016 at 6 months of age. Oooooh boy, it doesn't get much cuter than that little mushroom slice nose, the big expressive ears and those curious eyes. Aside from the adorable looks his birth-momma gave him, his adoptive mom makes sure he's always styling. This boy has hoodies in every color of the rainbow... Certainly a larger collection than I.

Unlike most bossy Bostons with huge personalities, Ridley is a very delicate, sensitive soul with a huge heart. When he's happy, he wiggles and quakes with his entire being. You can literally see the excited waves leaving his body as he sees his best friend, Tinkerbell, for the first time every Tuesday and Thursday.   He's a heartmelter for sure. Ridley is also known around these parts for melting feet. There's no favorite place in the world than side-sitting on the shoes of his Staff Member of the Day.

Though it's no secret he loves lounging on feet, his favorite nap zone is any small crevasse he can wiggle his tiny frame into. Though he takes naptime serious, there's one sure fire way to get him out..... "RIDDLES! LUNCHIES!" and boy BOLTS like a torpedo from where ever he was curled up in.

I know he's about ready to retire the hoodies and soft bedding for tank tops and a good ol' lounge in the outdoor water dish.

Soon, Riddlesworth... Soon.

Important Reminders
Please leave nylabones and rawhides at home. If packing a large bag of food, be sure to write the amount per feeding on the bag.

* Lobby doors are locked between 10am and 2pm on weekdays(Monday-Friday). We will not accept any arrivals or departures during those hours.

*  Dogs with expired vaccines will not be accepted for daycare or boarding. We require an  updated vaccination record 48 hours BEFORE he/she arrives.  If you are traveling abroad, we also will need a local contact in case of emergency.

*  Your dog MUST have a snap "quick release" collar for day care and boarding, with
no tags attached. This is important for your dogs safety.

* Please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of time for cancellations and reservations.

*  Be sure to inform us of any changes in contact information; phone numbers, email/home address, emergency contact, etc.

*  If a family member or friend is picking up your pooch from daycare or boarding, you must pre-pay your bill. If it's a last minute decision to have someone else pick your pup up, please give us a call with payment and let us know who we should be expecting.

We'd be more than happy to take any and all plastic bags off of your hands.
