Happy Hounds will be hosting a Howl-o-ween party for all pups who attend daycare on
Friday, October 30th. The whole day will be dedicated to Howl-o-ween! All your little fang-tastic pooches will be transformed into Handsome Devils, Goblins, Scarecrows, Pumpkins, Bumble Bees, Pretty Princesses, Witches and more!
DISCLAIMER: They will be transformed back upon departure. No worries! There will be costumes, bobbing for carrots and cake! Bee-lieve me, your little werewolves are going to be exhausted after all the gh'oul times they will have with their favorite pooch pals!
I know a lot of our clients have been waiting patiently for the 2016 calendars to arrive and they have! Please stop by during normal business hours to pick up your copy.
Effective November 1st, 2015:
If a family member or friend is picking up your pooch from daycare or boarding, you
must pre-pay their bill. If it's a last minute decision to have someone else pick your pup up, please give us a call with payment and let us know who we should be expecting.

Meet Sunny, a shepherd mix. Sunny joined the Happy Hounds family in May 2015 at the age of 9. This wise, old soul is what all the young pups aspire to be one day. Sunny has the sweetest disposition, you can't help but fall in love with his wonderful demeanor and his gentle heart. He truly is the epitome of what makes senior dogs so great and lovable. When Sunny isn't looking for attention, he's often found singing a low, quiet song. He loves when we join in and sing with him.
Meet Barney, a hound mix. Barney joined the Happy Hounds family in August 2012 at the age of 2. This little guy is just as happy as can be! Barney comes in every Wednesday, ready to start his day with a tail full of wags. Though he loves a good bout of play, Barney is a little selective of who he chooses to play with. Barney's favorite friends are Dexter(below) and Bruce, two big sweet, friendly men. He definitely knows how to pick good friends, his mother taught him well!
Meet Dexter, a hound mix. Dexter joined the Happy Hounds family in September 2013 at 5 months old. He's basically the class clown. Dexter absolutely loves everyone and everything with all of his being. Every time he comes in for a fun-filled day, Dexter wiggle-charges all the pups, giving away kisses to anyone within reach. He's like the overly exuberant little brother. Dexter never has a bad day!!
Meet Belle, a chihuahua/cattle dog mix. Belle joined the Happy Hounds family in November 2013 at 7 months old. What a cutie she is! Even as a pup, Belle has been wise beyond her years. She enjoys keeping order and peace, unless there's a fun game of hockey going on downstairs. Belle is a frequent daycare and lodging attendee and knows that her favorite nap spot will ALWAYS be open for her.

June 2005 Lauren, a past employee at Happy Hounds, adopted her best friend from a rescue in Toledo, Ohio. From the day Lauren brought Roxy home, she hasn't left her side. Roxy was shy, and had previously been abused. She worked with her every day to help her gain her confidence back that someone took from her. It was during that time, Roxy and Lauren created a bond like no other. It didn't take long before Roxy became Lauren's best friend, and the best dog she ever had.
On September 10th 2015, Roxy was diagnosed with oral cancer, and on September 22
nd Lauren found out the cancer she has is Undifferentiated Sarcoma. The Animal Cancer Center believes that with Radiation Therapy, Roxy will have a good chance in fighting this cancer. However, this treatment is extremely costly (roughly $6k+). Happy Hounds is actively supporting Lauren and her quest to raise the money in hopes of saving her best friend. Lauren is an amazing human. She works closely with Last Day Dog rescue and is typically the first to step up and help any animal in need, often fostering dogs in need of extensive medical care. She's currently fostering a little pit mix, Pearl, who just had one of her front legs amputated because of cancer. We will be selling homemade fleece rope toys for $10, personally made by Lauren. All profits from each toy will go towards Roxy's medical bills. Consider picking up a toy for your favorite furry friend while supporting an excellent cause!

 Fall is finally here! While everyone in your family is enjoying pumpkin flavored everything, why not your dog? Pumpkin is actually a cheap, healthy and tasty topper to your dog's food. Pumpkin has high fiber and water content, which aids in digestion, helps relieve constipation and diarrhea.

 When boarding your dog with us, we MUST have your dogs updated vaccination records 48 hours BEFORE he/she begin boarding. If you are traveling abroad, we also will need a local contact in case of emergency.
Your dog MUST have a snap "quick release" collar for day care and boarding, with no tags attached. You can keep the snap collar in your Happy Hounds backpack. If this is not his/her daily collar we will change it out when your dogs arrive at Happy Hounds. This is important for your dogs safety.
Be sure to inform us of any changes in contact information; phone numbers, email/home address, emergency contact, etc.
