Old Pasadena Happy Hour Week runs from March 1-15 this year. Old Pasadena's finest restaurants, bars and lounges are offering extended food and drink specials all week long! From $1 martinis, $2 beers to $3 gourmet sushi and appetizers, Old Pasadena Happy Hour Week offers something for everyone.

On Friday, March 9, 2012, you can enjoy a free evening of art, music and entertainment as Pasadena's most prominent arts and cultural institutions swing open their doors for Pasadena ArtNight. Free shuttles will loop throughout the evening with stops at each venue. Park at any one venue and ride to the others. Pasadena ARTS Route 10 bus runs along Colorado and Green Street until 8:00pm.
Highlights in and adjacent to Old Pasadena: Armory Center for the Arts See Richard Jackson's Accidents in Abstract Painting, showcasing paint-spewing army ducks and paint-filled airplane wreckage. Plus, solo shows by Jocelyn Foye and Dawn Kasper. Lineage Performing Art Center Enjoy contemporary dance and live music with Pasadena's own Lineage Dance and Michelle Bloom. Choreographer Hilary Thomas partners with acclaimed singer-songwriter Bloom, presenting new works. Also, Christophe Deluy's panoramic photographs are on display. Pasadena Museum of History Contemporary Masters, Artistic Eden III, a collaboration with the Pasadena Art Gallery Association, features juried paintings of life in the San Gabriel Valley by nationally recognized painters.

Make Music Pasadena (MMP) is now accepting musician submissions on Sonicbids for a chance to perform at California's largest free music festival. The event taking place Saturday, June 16, 2012 is poised for its biggest year yet with over 150 free concerts and an estimated attendance of over 35,000.
Make Music Pasadena is in search for the best independent artists to perform at the festival. All aspiring musicians from all musical genres are encouraged to apply for an opportunity to play at MMP. Two selected artists will receive $400 cash prize. With an expected attendance of nearly 35,000 people, this is a great opportunity for any performing artist to showcase their talent.

The Pasadena Festival of Women Authors will take place at the Pasadena Senior Center on Saturday, March 3rd. This year's edition features award-winning authors Heidi Durrow, Fannie Flagg, Michelle Huneven, and Susan Straight... hear them speak about their books and their lives.
Moderator: Best Selling Novelist Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, Author of A Woman of Independent Means
Lunch will be served. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Proceeds will go to the Pasadena Senior Center.

Please join us in congratulating Jose Ortiz, Ambassador of the Quarter. Jose Ortiz has been with the Ambassador Program since 2006. He is always willing to go above and beyond because he cares about people and Old Pasadena. Jose keeps a keen eye on the Schoolhouse Parking Facility where he identifies suspicious activities as well as cleaning issues. We appreciate his "can do" attitude and his quick response to assist visitors. Congratulations to Jose Ortiz for his outstanding service to the Downtown community.
