Fellow members of Beth Mordecai will be chanting Haftarah, reading Torah, taking aliyot, and leading prayers for the FIRST time! Won't you like to join them? The process is simple. There's still time to participate! Just contact Rabbi Saks (ari.saks@gmail.com; 732-442-2431) and we'll get you ready for something you're comfortable with in time for the service.

Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to DO a new Jewish thing!

There is still time to sign up to be a patron for our Scholar in Residence program at the affordable price of $50 per person ($100 per couple/family) or as a Benefactor ($500). Patrons and Benefactors are invited to a  special homemade dessert reception at the home of Rabbi Ari and Rachel Saks on Saturday May 21 @ 8 pm. The reception will include an exclusive presentation by our scholar, Rabbi Jonathan Porath on his experience making aliyah to Israel and what it's like to live in Jerusalem today. Don't miss out on this extraordinary and one of a kind event!

Restitution funds are falling short to meet the humanitarian needs of Holocaust survivors in Monmouth and Greater Middlesex counties.  25 survivors have already had services cut and 100 more face cuts in coming months. These are cuts to services helping them with basic daily activities, from meal preparation to bathing, to simply tidying up at home.

The Jewish Federation, Jewish Family Services in Middlesex and Jewish Family & Children's Service in Monmouth, together, are launching an
urgent fundraising initiative beginning
on Yom HaShoah, May 5, to restore services and prevent further cuts.

Check out Rabbi Saks' Op-Ed in the latest edition of the New Jersey Jewish News on the URGENT need to financially support local Holocaust survivors.
