New Year, New Space!
Happy New Year!
Happy 2014!  I am baffled as to where 2013 went, but am excited with the opportunities 2014 is sure to bring!!!  This new year GH Wood Design is looking to be its biggest client by remodeling our Glendora Design Center.  We can't describe how excited we are to take on such a big project, and know we are certainly up to the task!  You can look forward to new trends displayed in our new vignettes starting at the beginning of February.
In our last newsletter we asked you all to save the date of January 25th for our client party.  Due to a new project that we wanted to share with you, in addition to our new bathroom vignette, we have moved the party back one week, to February 1st, so we can unveil our new Modern Kitchen vignette!  Our in house interior designer, Jack, has some wonderful new designs to share with you as how we plan to update the rest of our spaces.
With January typically being a month of fresh starts and new beginnings we hope that we can be a resource for you whether you have a question on organization or if you are in need of a space overhauled.  We love hearing from you even if its just to say hi and to catch up!  It is our hope that you are looking forward to this year as much as we are, and that it is all you hope for it to be and then some! We hope to see you at our party on February 1st, and be ready to be shown a thing or two!!!

Take Care,
Kaleena

What's Trending...

Every year the design world waits with bated breath to hear Pantone announce its "Color of the Year".  Last year Emerald was the IT color, and this year we will be enjoying everything Orchid, or so they say.  I love the fact that there is a new color every year, but was disappointed in the fact that in very few of my endless supply of interior design magazines, did they feature rooms centered around the 2013 color.  The IT color is always vibrant, lovely and fresh, but despite those wonderful qualities you are seeing less and less designers designing spaces around that color.

There could be a whole host of reasons for that, but I think with the ever growing popularity of social media sites such as Houzz and Pinterest, we as consumers are finding that it is OK to not go out and repaint/refurnish/redecorate our house in that year's must have color. An idea that I find quite liberating.  In an age where there is pressure from every direction possible to stay on trend, we have been provided creative outlets that enable us to find our design niche and express our selves in a way that stays true to our aesthetic!

What I think Pantone's Color of the Year can now serve as, is a wonderful accent color represented in accessories that need to be changed out with some frequency.  Not only does this keep you within the realm of relevance, it keeps the space from becoming stale and the same year after year.  It's amazing how changing one little throw pillow can change the entire look of a space! Happy Coloring!
