Happy July!
We are thrilled to announce the publication of
Surge
- the stunning poetry collection by Michelle Whittaker.
A rumination on home, body, memory, what it is to be hunted and haunted... You simply cannot miss. And what about the cover? Check out the artist, Dawn Lee.
Michelle will be reading at the
New York City Poetry Festival,
of which we are proud sponsors. The festival runs
July 29th and 30th. We will be at our vendor table both days and our readers - Michelle, C. Bain, John Paul Davis, Kearah-Armonie, and Eliel Lucero - will be on the White Horse Stage on Saturday 4:00 pm.
What else will be at the festival? Our brand new anthology,
The Other Side of Violet, which is officially out on August 1st.
A fearless and dynamic collection of contemporary poetry and short fiction by established and emerging writers, the collection also contains interviews with Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Paul Harding and award-winning poet and novelist Tim Z. Hernandez.
Finally, if you are in Hudson NY, we'll be at the
READ & FEED Festival of Literature and Food on Sunday July 23. Yum!
Wishing you a fabulous July,
Jane Ormerod, Thomas Fucaloro, David Lawton,
George Wallace, Aimee Herman, Mary McLaughlin Slechta

great weather for MEDIA is delighted to announce the publication of
Surge
by Michelle Whittake
r.
"Even as her language loops into lullabies, swells and spells, it casts a blue and uneasy shadow. Even when she meditates on art or mortality, she dazzles with a
turn of phrase and explosive imagery. Even when adrift on the music and mystery of dreams, Surge is fueled by feeling. Warmth and compassion power this amazing debut."
- Terrance Hayes
"A voice like no other and an imagination that feeds on paradox."
-Julie Sheehan
"Michelle Whittaker sounds like no other poet I know: there is a wildness in her work, a strange singing from an unfamiliar depth...
Surge is a startling debut from a unique and mysterious poet
."
-Charif Shanahan
