MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!
The photograph above was taken by a two year old girl just playing around with a camera. There's something about this image and the perspective it offers to people who aren't two feet tall. At a tangible level, we get to enter the mind of this two year old and see what the world looks like to her... what the world looked like to her the day her Mom took her to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. We enter into her story in an intimate way and begin to understand who she is and what she considers beautiful. This beauty in sharing our stories with each other is something we don't do often as a Church. But if we read in the book of Acts, we read about the thousands added to the fold when the disciples of Jesus lovingly preached the Gospel and shared their testimony.

This month, we will have a wonderful opportunity to share our own stories with each other. On Wednesday, June 13th, we will have a kind of open mic testimony night. The core team will begin by sharing short versions of our stories with you, then we will open it up to anyone who might want to share as well. This is also a perfect night if you have a friend who might be questioning their faith a little. Maybe you have a friend who could benefit from a night like this; pray about it in the next week and really consider inviting one new person to this. I know it has the potential of being a life-changing conversion moment. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Oh... and yes, we'll have food! Make sure you tell your friends!
The month of May was wonderful in many ways! This is a picture from Adoration. I made the mistake in April thinking we wouldn't reach maximum capacity in the new upstairs chapel in the rectory. God had other plans. There's no way all these smiling young adults would have fit in the chapel... praise be to God! Hope you'll join us on the third Wednesday of this month and every month in the future for Adoration. You won't regret the one hour you give to God and the great companionship of other young adults.
Join us for fellowship this month... we're going hiking! If you would like to carpool with us to the trail head, meet us at the Cathedral. We are leaving at 6pm. If it is more convenient for you to meet us there, we will be at Old Mission Dam around 6:30pm. See address above. The trail is easy --not strenuous at all so, for all you novice hikers, you'll be fine! Let Dorinamae or Jim know if you have any questions.
HELP WANTED
Have you ever thought about serving at our Sunday 5:15pm Young Adult Mass? If so, we would love to train you and get you on the schedule! There is a special need for Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers but could also use some altar servers, musicians, and ushers! You don't have to already know what you're doing --we'll train you! If you have a desire to serve God and represent young adults at the Mass, contact Val! Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
Volunteers are needed to help bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound on Saturday mornings. You would not be going alone but with a group of two or more. We leave from the Cathedral right after the 9am Saturday Mass (~9:30). If you are interested and available even one or two Saturdays a month, come join us on a Saturday or contact Val-   val@sdcathedral.org  for more info.

What do YOU want to do?

Were you able to make it out to bowling with us last month? Wasn't it a great time?? As Christians, we are called to community and fellowship so any time we are able to have fun together is good! This month, we will  bond while hiking! Maybe next month's fellowship will be an idea you come up with! If you have any ideas for other fun activities the group can do together, shoot us an email and we'll make it our next fellowship meeting! Send all suggestions to Dorinamae at Dorinamae@sdcathedral.org. Thanks!
