Feb 6, 2016:   Madison Street to Madison Avenue

Parade:  11am, 76th Street
Festival:  1pm, 54th St & Madison Ave (SE Corner)

Chinatown Partnership, East Midtown Partnership, Madison Avenue Business Improvement District and SUNY's Confucius Institute for Business (CIB) come together to kick off "Madison Street to Madison Avenue," a Chinese Lunar New Year celebration taking place a week preceding the traditional Chinatown parade in Manhattan's Chinatown. Traditional Chinese lion dancers and dragons will make their way from Chinatown to the Upper East Side in a decorated double decker bus, arriving at Madison Avenue and East 76th street where special guests will make welcoming remarks and participate in a celebratory ribbon cutting. Dancers will then make their way to East Midtown, stopping at select retailers that are offering Lunar New Year promotions to commemorate the turn of the Chinese calendar. Retailers include Baccarat, Bally, CH Carolina Herrera, Chopard, Coach, Dennis Basso, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Michael Kors, Mulberry, NARS and more.
