As we gather this weekend, for cookouts and parties, let's not forget the reason behind the "holiday". It is a solemn day of remembrance for those who sacrificed and honored the very ground we stand on with their lives. They fought against bias and hatred. They rose up and protected freedom, dignity and equality - for all- here and overseas.
To them goes to the glory! Bow your heads in a silent moment to ponder those lives- and yours in their shadow- and the magnificent country we call home.
May God Bless us all, and the United States of America.
Sincerely, Paulette D. Hamilton Town Administrator
