motherDay
Many of us have learned our "crafty" skills (sewing, knitting, embroidery...)
from our mothers, grandmothers, aunts...sometimes even a mother
of a friend.  We thank all of you for continuing
this
important tradition of handcrafts
.

A while back, I came across an article
written by Mark Frauenfelder, Editor-in Chief of "Make" magazine.
In his book "Searching for Meaning in a Throwaway World"
he lists what he considers to be the benefits
of making things by hand.
Top on his list is:
"A deeper connection to the things that keep us alive and well."
amen to that!
If you are interested in learning more,
I've attached an edited version below:

 Made By Hand

Read it and pass it along, or better yet...make something!

Happy Mother's Day!
