The Springfield Ballet Company (SBC) is pleased to announce our third annual performance of
Leap into Lincoln
, which will be presented in collaboration with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum (ALPLM) on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, with options of morning or early afternoon sessions.
Leap into Lincoln
gives students a unique way to connect with the people, events and dances from Lincoln's era and make them real.
Leap into Lincoln is an opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students to experience, firsthand, the various styles of dance in Abraham Lincoln's lifetime. Students will watch the Springfield Ballet Company perform a variety of dance styles from 1809 to 1865, including segments of ballets from the Romantic era (Giselle, La Sylphide and Pas de Quatre), stately court dances, and American folk dances (reels, jigs, square dance and African slave dance).
Visit our website HERE for additional information and for a school reservation form!
