Spend the afternoon with your friends going out to eat and seeing a movie. Movie will be decided closer to the date of the showing. Please note, program times may vary slightly due to available show times. Please bring at least $20 for lunch and snacks.
Indoor Water Park

Beat the winter blues with some summertime fun! Join us at Massanutten Indoor Water Park to experience slides, a multi-story fortress, indoor surfing, a lazy river, and much more! Lunch is included.
Wintergreen Overnight

Come on this overnight trip to Wintergreen resort for snow tubing, adaptive ski lessons, indoor swimming pool, hot tubs and more! We will be staying in a resort condo and enjoying majestic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. All ski equipment and meals will be provided.

Beginning Saturday, January 6th, participants without updated forms will not be able to participate in TR activities.

Join us for a workout and variety of active games! Participants should come dressed in workout clothes and sneakers and bring a water bottle. Classes run until May 2018.

  Therapeutic Basketball

  • Ages 13 & up
  • 12:30-1:30pm

Practice basketball and learn skills with friends. Geared towards teens and adults who are independent and respond safely in large group supervision. Staff ratio is 1:15. If individual attention is required, please come with an aide.

Water Exercise
No class January 1, 15 & 25

Group instruction for individuals with disabilities in water exercise. Must be able to care for self in dressing room and respond to supervision in 1:8 ratio or come with an aide. Aides are expected to join the group in the water to assist, so please come prepared.

VSA Visual Arts Show is accepting art for the 2018 show!
VSA Charlottesville/Albemarle is organizing its annual Visual Arts Show.
Submissions for the show are due January 29–31, 2018 from 9 am–3 pm at WorkSource Enterprises, 1311 Carlton Avenue.
The exhibit will open at Carver Recreation Center on March 10 and run through August 24, 2018.
The opening will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 6:30-8 pm.

We are now implementing participant levels to our activities based on our experience and research into what a participant can expect physically and sensory wise during the activity. 
This is to inform participants of what a trip may involve and to encourage them to register for programs that will be the most enjoyable and successful based on their needs.  

Mobility: No assistance and can manage most surfaces and terrains to include steep inclines and uneven surfaces. Should be able to walk up to 30 minutes without resting.
Personal Care: Can maintain their own personal hygiene without assistance or with verbal cues
Cognitive: Can follow single step instructions without assistance and stay within a group setting. 
Communication: Able to convey feelings, desires and needs.

   LEVEL 2  
Mobility: Some assistance or self-propelled device. Needs assistance on uneven terrain and independent on flat surfaces.
Personal Care: Can maintain their own personal hygiene with verbal assistance.
Cognitive : Can follow instructions with verbal prompts, constant reminders and some assistance.
Communication: Able to convey feelings, desires and needs with picture cues or ASL.

Mobility: Full assistance and/or self propelled device. Must come with an aide
Personal Care: Personal hygiene with full assistance.
Cognitive: Limited ability to follow instruction.
Communication: Able to convey feelings, desires and needs with full assistance.
