happy new year
" New Year, New You " is one of those phrases thrown around by marketers, including those who market to us. We are promised that every self-improvement book published in late December or early January - and there are a lot of them! - will be the perfect addition to our New Year, New You table. This publishing microseason is for you if you want to lose weight, eat better, exercise more, improve your parenting, meditate, or develop better coping skills.

We at Weller Book Works have goals for the new year, too. We'll continue to work on finding wonderful books -- be they new, used, or rare -- to share with our customers. All of us booksellers will strive to read even more . And we're continuing to keep a resolution begun when we relocated to Trolley Square: complete a store-wide annual inventory each January. We'll work on that resolution nearly immediately.  The store will be closed Sunday, January 3 through Tuesday, January 5 . We'll reopen Wednesday, January 6, at 11.

For your new year we hope you'll consider reading more, loving more, and laughing more. We also hope you'll continue to support locally-owned businesses like ours, so Salt Lake City will continue to be populated by unique, vibrant shops run by your friends and neighbors.

Illustrations in sepia tones are protected by red-titled tissue guards.
