January 2018
Kitchen oil recycling event Jan. 4 - 7

Tis the season for fried turkeys, entertaining, holiday food preparation -- and leftover kitchen oil. In an effort to keep kitchen oil from being poured down drains this holiday season, Centennial Water & Sanitation District, which serves Highlands Ranch, is offering a free kitchen oil recycling event Thursday, Jan. 4 through Sunday, Jan. 7. The recycling site will be located at Redstone Park, 3280 Redstone Park Circle in Highlands Ranch. This location is adjacent to one of the Highlands Ranch Metro District's Christmas tree recycling drop off sites at Redstone Park. So if you need to drop off your used kitchen oil and Christmas tree, you can do both in one stop.

Disposing of used oil isn't as easy as throwing it in the garbage or down the drain. Dumping any amount of cooking oil can harm wildlife and damage your local sanitation systems, so Centennial Water is working with ClearEcos, to recycle the oil and turn it into biofuel.

If you have questions about the collection event, please call Centennial Water at 303-791-0430
