District News & Updates
Little FREE Library Kiosks Installed at Local Parks

Sarah Lundell, a recent Oak Ridge High School graduate, has been busy designing, building, and installing three Little Free Libraries for our community. With help from the EDHCSD Parks Department, the libraries have been placed at Community Park, Murray Homestead Park, and Parkview Heights Park.

These libraries encourage reading through free sharing of books. The El Dorado Hills Library will act as steward for the kiosks. Sarah worked on this project to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. She drove fundraising, encouraged book donations from the community, and worked with multiple local organizations to complete her goal. For more information about Little Free Libraries, please visit https://littlefreelibrary.org/. Way to go, Sarah!

Francisco Drive Road Closures in Late July

Francisco Drive will be closed in late July for a project that consists of constructing new ADA ramps, concrete removal, hot mix asphalt paving, striping, and sign relocation at the intersections of Francisco Drive/Schooner Drive and Francisco Drive/Kensington Drive.

Construction for this project will begin Monday, July 9th for this Project, and the dates of the closure will be approximately on July 30, 2018 and August 2, 2018. Specific dates are to be determined once the Contractor schedule is accepted and preliminary work is completed.
