Rhapsody in Gershwin - a new experience for SBC!

With a live jazz combo and a group of the area's finest vocalists, the Springfield Ballet Company took to the stage with a new, original evening of dance set to the unmistakable music of Gershwin.

Thank you to everyone who supported our recent production of Rhapsody in Gershwin, sponsored by Carrollton Bank, the weekend of March 11-13 at The Legacy Theatre.

We were honored to be surrounded by such great talent with choreographers  Anna Bussing, Susan Collier, Grace Nanavati,  Julie Ratz, Gina DeCroix Russell & Gary Shull; vocalists  Greg Donathan, Lori Ann McCabe, Joshua Ratz,  Mary Kate Smith & Cynda Wrightsman and musical director D amien Kaplan.

Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program and SBC Training Academy Conclude 2015-2016 Season with Recital

The Springfield Ballet Company's Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program and SBC Training Academy concluded their 2015-2016 season with a recital performance on Friday, March 18, 2016, at The Legacy Theatre.

Boys & Girls Clubs dancers performed a classical ballet piece, as well as a contemporary jazz dance; and Training Academy dancers performed a ballet selection. The evening also included repertoire from recent SBC productions.

Honors, recognitions and reception were held immediately following the recital.

Special thanks to:  WFC Foundation, SCHEELS & Sunrise Rotary for sponsoring the Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program; The Legacy Theatre for our beautiful performance venue; Nick & Beth Faulkner from Baskin Robbins for providing our dancers with ice cream cone vouchers; HyVee for the beautiful bouquets for our Boys & Girls Clubs dancers; Scott Richardson for being so generous and supportive; Patrick Russell for photography; Jeff Nevins for lighting design and sound; Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director Bill Legge for supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach program; Miss Anna at the Boys & Girls Clubs for letting us take over her office every Friday to use as a dressing room;  and all of our families, friends and fans for making this evening so very special!
