Three SBC dancers attend Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals
 Springfield Ballet Company dancers Allison Rainford, Jocelyn Fuhr and Taylor Krech recently competed in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) semi-finals in Chicago, February 28 through March 2.
The dancers each performed a classical ballet solo and a contemporary solo, and also attended three classes (ballet, variations and modern/contemporary) at The Joffrey Ballet's studios as part of the YAGP workshop. Additionally, they experienced "Broadway in Chicago" by attending the hit musical Chicago at the Bank of America Theatre.
Jocelyn Fuhr scored in the top 24 in the junior's category for her classical variation, and all of the dancers received great feedback about their technique and artistry.
Great job ladies!

Master class in Bharatanatyam
 On Saturday, March 15, 2014, Springfield Ballet Company dancers had the exceptional opportunity of taking a class in Bharatanatyam, a classical dance form of South India, taught by Vidya Sundareshan.
SBC dancers learned some of the basic steps for this exquisite style of dance, and learned "Alaripu" - which is the first movement in a series of dances that are part of Bharatanatyam.
Thank you to Vidya for sharing her time and talents with the SBC! It was a wonderful experience!

SBC Training Academy Recital

Please join the dancers of the Springfield Ballet Company's Training Academy and members of the SBC for a recital performance at the HCFTA, Theatre II. The Trainees will be featured in an original classical selection to music from The Beatles, as performed by The Travelling Quartet.
