Where the (Geek) Girls Are: The Geek Girls will be Sponsoring and Appearing at the Technology for Better Living Conference & Expo at the Cape Cod Community College on June 1st, with some workshops and their famous Help Desk. Great opportunity for the older adult in your life to attend and learn more about computer security and online assistance.  They will also be at the Metro South Chamber's ATHENA Breakfast Program and Expo on June 14th at The Shaw's Center in Brockton, MA.  You can also find them at the American Business Women's Association Cape Cod Chapter annual Open House and Expo on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at the Holiday Inn, Route 132 / 1127 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis. Who wants to go to Hacker School in New York City? Introducing Etsy Women Hacker Grants

 Geek Girl has been asked by the powers that be from Hacker School in NYC to get the word out about this incredible opportunity for some talented ladies who are looking for a life of being a hacker...er, well programmer...
We are helping Hacker School get the word out about their $50,000 worth of scholarships for female programmers provided by Etsy. Yes, Etsy. Mighty gracious of them indeed!
If you are unfamiliar, Hacker School is a free 3 month intensive workshop in NYC for programmers to get better. Although it is free, living in NYC and not working for 3 months isn't. So that's where the scholarships come into play. The summer session runs from June 4th to August 25th and the application deadline is May 7th. Read more on our blog post or apply below.
