BEYONDMATBEYOND THE MAT... FUN FACTS FOR THE INQUIRING YOGI!

What are Chakras?

Chakra comes from the root word "to move". According to traditional Indian medicine, chakras are said to be moving wheels or circles of energy that carry "Prana", a life force in our body. There are seven chakras located at intersecting points for Ida and Pingala, two of the body's main energy channels (nadis).  The first chakra begins at the base of the spine and the last chakra is located at the crown of the head. GOOD KARMA & OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS Partners

Thank you to everyone who have attended the Karma classes. Your support of our community charities is very much appreciated. The monthly Karma class will return in September!

Spend your Canada Day morning cheering on the Kanata community!

Kanata Food Cupboard is looking for adult volunteers to be route marshalls for the Scotiabank Canada Day Road Races on July 1.  Adults or students 16 years of age and older are also needed at the refreshment tent.  (Students under 16 years of age are able to volunteer at the refreshment tent providing a parent also volunteers.)

If you're interested in volunteering the morning of July 1, please contact the Kanata Food Cupboard Event and Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected].

The Scotiabank Canada Day Road Races presented by Bushtukah is a great supporter of the Kanata Food Cupboard every year, with partial proceeds of the race going directly to food bank operations.

Race day would not be a success without volunteers so thank you for your support!
