Q: How come you do not carry "Blue Buffalo"pet food. I understand it is a great food.
"Blue Buffalo" has great advertising. We have two distributors that handle the product line so if you have to have it we will be glad to order it for you. Most of the foods we carry are better and less expensive, but not as heavily advertised. We prefer product lines that are designed for all life stages. Click here to read more.

New Item: Antler Chews These all-natural antler chews are a wonderful new addition to your dog's chews. Made in the USA, antlers are rich in minerals, incredibly long-lasting, healthy chews that dogs go nuts over. They don't splinter, split, stain or smell.
And! Antler chews are environmentally friendly and come from a completely renewable source, known as "shed antlers". Deer (moose, elk) regrow antlers every year and "shed" the previous set, making these completely renewable and safe. Available in all sizes from small to extra large dogs.
Medium Antler, $12.98. Check out our valuable coupon below!! |

Training: Puppy Kindergarten
Did you know that the best age to start training your puppy is right around the 12 week mark? Puppies are sponges who soak up information, good or bad, very quickly in their early weeks. Puppy Kindergarten takes advantage of this "clean slate" and helps you guide your puppy to make GOOD habits instead of bad ones. Puppies in kindergarten learn to sit, stay, walk on a leash and to come when called. We also go over such puppy-raising issues as housebreaking, chewing, barking, and biting. Puppies also get much-needed socialization with other puppies and humans. Kindergarten classes run every Tuesday evening from 6:15 to 7:00 and last for 4 weeks. Start any Tuesday before your puppy is 20 weeks old. The cost of the class is only $50 +tax for the entire session. A deal! Click here for more information about our Puppy Kindergarten Classes.

Pet of the Month: Barney Prado Barney is a handsome little maltese with a big personality. He has his momma wrapped around his paw, and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have it any other way.
With a stunning white coat, he is quite the looker AND he's an educated man, too! Barney came to private tutoring and did very, very well. Way to go, Barney! We love you!
Want to nominate your pet for Pet of the Month? Visit our acebook page and upload a picture of your dog, cat, bird, fish...and tell us why he or she should be named Happy Tails Pet of the Month!

Pets With Allergies: Exotic Proteins
"Variety is the spice of life" and that applies to our four-legged friends, too. Dogs and cats can develop sensitivities to common protein sources (chicken and beef) so sometimes it is necessary to branch out a little bit and explore some of the more exotic proteins. Even if your pet isn't showing signs of protein sensitivity (yet), don't wait until he does! Giving your pet a variety will help to avoid and eliminate food sensitivities by helping your pet to maintain a stronger immune system.
Raw Frozen
Available in the regular beef, chicken and lamb we also carry raw diets in rabbit, venison and bison. Cats seem particularly fond of rabbit, although we've heard good things about dogs, too.
Conveniently packed in 3lb medallion bags for small dogs, and 6lb patty packs for larger dogs.
Not interested in raw? We also carry exotic proteins in the form of canned diets.
Canned Diet
Vension and rabbit are also available in canned foods. High in meat protein and veggies, canned diets can be a more convenient way to introduce exotic proteins into your pet's diet. Both Nature's Variety Instinct and Nature's Logic carry these harder to find protein sources.
Dry Kibble
The most convenient way to feed exotic proteins and, for large dogs, more economical. There exotic protein kibbles available from Nature's Logic, Nature's Variety Instinct, Natural Balance and Taste of the Wild. Come in for samples of these kibbles, especially if you pet is suffering from food allergies and you've tried some different options to no avail. It just might be the protein source!
