Under the Covers
Revealing the original Manning upholstery at Millford
Step back to the time this photo was taken, around 1903, and join Peter Kenny as he delves into the mysteries under the seat covers, bringing to light the original upholstery used by Duncan Phyfe and the Mannings on a suite of furniture at Millford. See photos of the original fabric and learn about how CAHPT partnered with The Metropolitan Museum of Art to restore some of the collection.
A Musical Duo in Harmony
at a Trio of Classical Houses!
CAHPT's first concert series
This Fall, Classical American Homes Preservation Trust and The Richard H. Jenrette Foundation presented three unique concerts inspired by the themes of classicism and romanticism resonant not only in music, but also in the architecture and decorative arts of our collection of historic homes. Robert deMaine, CAHPT Artistic Director of the concert series and the Principal Cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, along with Simon Adda-Reyss, Associate Professor of Keyboard Studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, created an exciting week-long program that stretched all the way from Edgewater on the Hudson in Barrytown, New York to Ayr Mount on the banks of the Eno River in Hillsborough, North Carolina, and culminated in the High Hills of Santee in Pinewood, South Carolina at Millford.
