Greetings!
In the spirit of the holiday season, especially this time of giving thanks, I thought it might be nice to give thanks for all our blessings-- including Lois and Gene Alhart.
Dad- or Grandpa- was an active member of the Rochester Rotary Club, which this year is celebrating it's 100th Anniversary.
As part of the year-long celebration, the club has donated a Centennial Clock to the City of Rochester. It is located just outside the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, where the club currently meets every Tuesday. T\ The clock was dedicated by the president of Rotary International on October 4th. A plaque- in honor of those who have made a $500 donation towards the funding of the clock will be dedicated on the club's anniversary- March 12, 2012. I thought it would be nice to have Mom and Dad's- (Grandma and Grandpa's) names on that plaque- and I thought it would be even nicer if all their children and grand-children could be a part of it. In this way- the cost is spread out- and does not become a burden to anyone. I hope you can join in this recognition- at whatever level is comfortable for you. $10, $20, $25-- it makes no difference. Just takling part will be meaningful. Since brother Dave was also a Rochester Rotarian- Im sure he and I can make-up the difference between what we collect and the $500 donation.
I would suggest the wording be: Lois and Eugene G. Alhart Of course I will send a photo of the completed project. What a wonderful tribute this will be to a Rochester Rotarian who truly exemplified Rotary's motto of Service Above Self |
