Timberland Bank parent reports first-quarter profit of $2.53 million
Helped by loan and deposit growth, the parent company of Timberland Bank earned a fiscal first-quarter profit of $2.53 million, up nearly 50 percent from the same period a year ago. Read more here.

Proposed terminal at Grays Harbor won't handle crude oil
The new owner of a Grays Harbor biodiesel facility has dropped plans to handle crude oil as it pursues an expansion project at the Port of Grays Harbor on Washington's coast.  Read more here.

Stakeholders hash out ideas in flood plan forum
A GGHI forum with officials and community leaders from around Grays Harbor Tuesday explored aspects of a large-scale flood mitigation project for Aberdeen and Hoquiam that leaders say could eventually lead to benefits such as increased property value, economic investment in the area, aesthetic improvements along the water and reduction in flood insurance payments . Harbors end the year with some encouraging employment trends
The Twin Harbors ended the year with an increase in unemployment rates, though both counties kept their jobless rates below 10 percent for the 10th month in a row. Read more here. 
Local longshore union adds 50 workers to stand-by list
The local longshore union has expanded its roster of "casual" workers, effectively adding 50 potentially local names to an on-call list for work when the Port of Grays Harbor's docks are at their busiest.  Read more here.
