Wine Bottle Cheese Board

Recycled Wine Bottle Cheese Tray

with Joyce Sullivan

$30 includes supplies (on sale for $17)

**No Previous Experience Necessary**

BYOB for Wine Bottle Class

This is an ultimate recycling project!  Talented instructors lead this fun workshop as you learn how to transform empty wine bottles into decorative hors d'oeuvre or cheese trays.

Each participant needs to bring one regular (not sentimental value) wine bottle.  It must clean and dry, inside and outside and have the label and glue removed.

We will demo and explain how to flatten wine bottles in the kiln. Since it takes 19 hours to squish a wine bottle, we'll exchange your bottle with a similar bottle that is already flat.

To remove the label, soak your bottle for thirty minutes in very hot, soapy water. If the label doesn't slip right off, you can use a razor blade scraper to remove it. If the adhesive doesn't come off easily, you can use Goo Gone to get it off.

After you've learned the technique, you can bring more wine bottles to Harmony for squishing.  Kiln fees are as low as $12 for one bottle up to $60 for ten bottles.

Mirror-Mirror Mosaic

with Angela Chandler

$39 plus supplies (bring you own frame)

 Sunday, November 16; 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

**No Experience Required**

From the mind of Angela Chandler, this wonderful project can be quick and easy to build or it can be complex, depending on your time and style.

We will start with a picture frame that can be any style and color you like.  We will add a beveled mirror on a raised glass platform, then we will mosaic around it with randomized strips of glass, rods, and millefiori for additional texture and design.  This is a great project for Van Gogh glass and SilverCoats mirrored glass.  The colors can be matched to any decor.

This project is perfect to hang beside your entry for that last minute lipstick and hair check as you leave.  They have an elegant, one-of-a-kind look that would make a wonderful housewarming, wedding or anniversary gift.

You must bring a picture frame to class with you.  We suggest a 10 x 13 glass surface, or just slightly larger to do in class.  It needs to have glass.  You can buy one with glass or bring one without glass and we'll cut glass to fit.  This project could be repeated at home with any size mirror, even a large mirror designed to hang over a vanity, in an entry or beside the dining room table.

with Joyce Sullivan

Sunday, November 30 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 4:00 to 6:00 pm

$29 plus supplies

**No Previous Experience Necessary**

**Beginning Class Required to take Intermediate Class**

This project requires the use of two pairs of jewelry pliers. We suggest a combination of flat nose, chain nose and/or bent chain nose pliers. We have a very good quality pliers available for $12.95 per pair.   Each student will purchase rings and a clasp. The supplies will cost $15 to $20.

In addition to learning the weave, in the intermediate class, you'll also learn "Aspect Ratio" so that you can take any pattern and adapt it to the size you want it to be.

If you need glasses, please remember to bring them.

Some people also wear "readers" or a magnifier to make the weaving easier.

Even though we have very good lighting in the store, chain maille requires close-up work; you may need to bring your own task lighting too.
