Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Hart Family and Friends,

Wow!  We not only met our goal, we raced past it!  Our Hart community raised over $1500 for the Allen Community Outreach (ACO).  It looks like Ms. Hart, Ms. Ross, Leo the Leopard, and I will be duct taped to the wall during our Hart Beat on November 17.  Thank you for all of your contributions to this great cause!

Tuesday is Halloween and we know that the kids are super excited about dressing up for trick or treating.  Just as in years past, we are asking students to keep their costumes at home and to not wear them to school on the 31st.

Be sure to stay warm this weekend, we are hearing it is going to be unusually cold!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

New! Lovejoy Letter Campaign

Dear Hart Families,
We need your help for an upcoming opportunity to let our teachers and staff know how much our Lovejoy ISD community values them and what an impact each one has on our children! The district provides an extra check for teachers the day before Thanksgiving break.

In addition to those checks, again this year we would love to include a hand written letter from Lovejoy ISD families expressing gratitude and appreciation to each teacher and staff on your campus. Letters should simply be a #shortandsweet note of thanks that expresses how much #weloveourteachers.

We would be so grateful if you could write a letter or letter(s) to any teacher or teacher(s)/staff, either current or past, that have been valuable to your child(ren)'s educational experience. Please clearly label the envelope with the staff/teacher's name and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign) and return the letter to the front office by Friday November 10th.
The letter campaign has become such a meaningful tradition. We really appreciate the time and effort your contributions will make again to this year's letter campaign.

Sincerely,
Anne Smith
Lovejoy Letter Campaign Coordinator 2017

RESPONSIBILITY
- When you agree to do something and follow through

ILLNESS
Currently we are seeing a short lived stomach virus causing vomiting/diarrhea, headache, and stomach ache (some are not experiencing all of these symptoms - and some are having lower GI symptoms). Some are NOT experiencing fever with this stomach virus. This virus seems to be lasting about 24 hours.

We are also seeing allergies (ragweed is high) and strep throat (seems to be starting out as stomach ache and no fever present) which seems to have decreased a bit.

Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

MISSING IMMUNIZATIONS
There are a handful of our students that are still missing appropriate documentation of immunizations per Texas State Regulations. Please get these to the school nurse, Allison Wright, ASAP so that your child can continue attending school. IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD AN EMAIL OR PHONE CALL FROM ME YET REGARDING MISSING IMMUNIZATIONS YOUR CHILD'S IMMUNIZATIONS SHOULD BE UP TO DATE. If required immunization documentation is not received (or process of series has not started if full series is required) we may have to delay school attendance until we have appropriate documentation. Please call me (Nurse Alli) with any questions, 469-742-8156.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Receive Text Messages from Lovejoy ISD
