Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Hart Family and Friends,

We hope you can join us for our Hart Beat tomorrow morning at 8:15. I hear there are going to be a few people taped to the wall, and the students sure seem excited :)!   Remember to send your student in the class shirt they received this week (If you didn't purchase a shirt, students can wear a shirt of the same color).  Tomorrow will be our very first "Team Shirt" day.  It is going to look pretty spectacular during Hart Beat!

This is my favorite time of year because of all of the family time, delicious food, and festive decorations.  I have to admit, my Christmas decorations are already up!  We hope you enjoy your time with your family and friends, and we will see you on Monday, November 27th!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

Message from the Nurse

ILLNESS
Currently we are seeing a flu-like virus but students are testing negative for Flu. The duration of symptoms and fever do not last as long as the Flu, but symptoms are very similar. We have seen a decrease in cases of Flu and Strep. Many of the Flu cases are also combined with Strep. Please inform your healthcare provider (if you take your child in for a doctor's appointment), that we are seeing Flu. At the beginning of onset, the main symptoms seem to be headache, stomach ache and body aches, followed by fever and extreme tired-ness. A short lived stomach virus is also going around causing vomiting/diarrhea, headache, and stomach ache (some are not experiencing all of these symptoms-and some are only having lower GI symptoms). Some are NOT experiencing fever with this stomach virus. This virus seems to be lasting about 24 hours.

Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

HEAD LICE

This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

Thank you for your cooperation!

New! Dads at Hart ~
Thank you to all the dads who have been a Dad @ Hart or have signed up to be one. Fall semester is fully reserved as is January. We wanted to make sure every student has a chance to have a father figure before we accept the request for a second volunteer day.

Before Thanksgiving break, sign ups will open for repeat volunteers and we expect the remaining available days to be reserved quickly. It's a meaningful experience for the students and the Father figures. We would like for everyone to have a chance to experience it.

Dates are first come first served. The earlier you reserve the better chance you have of getting the date you want. Click here to register. Thank you for making a difference at Hart.
