September 5th:  2017 Harvest Begins!
Incredibly, it is that time of year.  HARVEST TIME.
Winemaker, Jeff Murphy, is frequently in the vineyards to monitor the ripeness of our thirteen varieties of grapes.  The Seyval Blanc grapes, pictured here, were harvested today and it continues tomorrow morning.  Due to recent rains, the first harvest of Pinot Noir will also occur tomorrow with Niagara to be picked later in the week.

Johnson Estate's Second Chardonnay Harvest
with Grape Picking & a French Harvest Picnic
Sunday, September 17, 9:30am

We are planning to hand-pick the second harvest of grapes from our still-young Chardonnay vineyard!  Last year's hand-picked harvest resulted in a special 2016 vintage of Chardonnay - not yet been released to the general public - of 2275 bottles and this year's harvest will surely top that.

Last year, Fred suggested that this typically French variety of grape should be celebrated "a la francaise".  So, we start with coffee and croissants and end with Salade Nicoise luncheon and Chardonnay wine.....oh and pick grapes for a little while in between!
$30/person
Includes lunch & winery certificate for bottle of 2017 Chardonnay,
your special vintage!

Lunch menu, details, & reservations HERE.  Space Limited.

Gold Medals at Johnson Estate
At our last count, Johnson Estate's wines had three Double Gold medals and two gold medals.  See list here.
